Member of Parliament visits Felixstowe
In May 2016, the Felixstowe factory hosted a visit by Dr Therese Coffey, United Kingdom Member of Parliament for Suffolk Coastal. Dr Coffey also holds the positions of Parliamentary Secretary and Deputy Leader of the House of Commons.
This visit was at the request of the Scotch Whisky Association, who are wanting to demonstrate to politicians the importance of the Scotch Whisky industry to the UK economy, and in particular to emphasize the extent of the industries supply chain. The Scotch Whisky industry spends around £1.7 billion pa on its supply chain, and have identified Lallemand Gb as an important supply chain company as we are now a major supplier of yeast to the Scotch Whisky industry, with a market share that has grown to approximately 30% over the past 3 years.
The visit was hosted by Alan Smart, LBDS Technical Sales representative in Scotland, and Felixstowe staff.
